Recently Evan Longoria slid into third base feet first with front leg straight and back leg bent. His front leg went up and over the bag and came off.

The bent back-trailing leg finally came to rest ON the bag, however even though he was safe had his front leg stayed on, the reverse was true because F5 tagged the back leg and the field ump got the call correct.

Young players need to master the act of sliding properly.
